The release of the Chrome browser by Google has been a huge success. In one day, the new Webkit-based browser reached a market penetration of 2%. The reasoning of Google behind its browser is solid and it also happens to be in line with the strategy of City Live.
In the comic book that announced Chrome, Google explains that the browsing paradigm is no longer sufficient for the rich internet applications that we use today. This was also the reasoning behind the Glowe approach of City Live. If you’re interested, read “Ceci n’est pas une webbrowser“, a blog post on the future of the internet that I wrote some time ago.
Anyway, I tried out Google Chrome and it is indeed a lot faster then both Firefox and Internet Explorer. If you think your internet connection is slow, try Chrome. Maybe it is just your browser that is clogging your computer.
